My grandson has a 2001Scrambler 90 that has starting issues.Does anyone here know how the electric solenoid on the carb is supossed to work? The bike will start with the idle air scew seated but not run or rev up. If I turn the screw out, it will not start when cold. Any info is welcome.

Got this baby and posted about it in the repair forum but moving it here. Gonna try to get her in good shape. Starts with starter fluid. I’m cleaning out the old cheapo carb and ordered a OEM carb (after shadetree shamed me for suggesting a china carb)
I decided to move the thread here since i’m planning on restoring it and the thread in the repair forum had the wrong quad type as the title LOL… first step is learning what bike you have
haven’t done much engine work besides watching youtube for how to fix my boat when it breaks… i watched some vids and said hey i can do that!! so maybe i can figure out how to do this stuff… i’m more of a computer and electronics guy but want to learn…
here’s some pics – ugly aftermarket carb included! i think i have all the fenders but the small front right one next to the driver’s right knee, although half were held on with zipties
i’m going to replace all fluids, put an oem throttle on (it has a twist handle right now), find a light, get a new chain, and clean all the rusty parts i can. Needs a couple front brake line too but the rear one works. Anything else that it looks like i need to do? Is this thing supposed to have some kind of chain guard? It seems like it runs kind of close to the ground. Maybe the tires or wheels are supposed to be larger
Hi, new to the thread. Need some help. Rear wheel hub is bad on my 08 Polaris outlaw 450. Was wondering if the hub from an 07 outlaw 500 would be compatible? I know they look a lil different but the bolt pattern is still 4/110 correct? Thanks
I have the shims in yay me. I could only fit 1.5mm before everything ran out of splines.
One more question. If any of the weights fell out of place, just curious what kind of noise would it make?
Everything sounds like the way it was before I started except I got a little belt whine but I have watched videos on you tube and they have the same sound.
I didn’t do the purple spring as I don’t have the right equipment to do that yet.
Our matching pair of 2010 Rancher 420’s. (My wife’s 420 came down with the dreaded angle sensor disease, so I will have to fix that bfore we can go riding again).

I just got a 1998 TRX300FW 4×4 and need to replace a front rim. The good rim is solid, no holes around the perimeter, but I have seen some 300s with the holes-type front rims, even later models up to 2000. Is there any rhyme or reason for this? Just trying to make sure I’m looking for the right replacement.
