850 Scrambler issue

I have an 2013 850 Scrambler XP LE and I love it! I do have a problem, when it’s idling and i give it throttle it will go into a safe mode or limp mode. When I let off the throttle and reapply throttle it will be fine until I slow to idle then it repeats the cycle. when it does this the engine will show in the display and when it’s running normal it will not appear. It doesn’t seem to leave a code.

There seems to be about a half inch of play in the throttle lever I found that when I let off the throttle and it goes down to idle speed if I move the throttle lever all the way closed before I reapply the throttle it doesn’t do it.

Thought it might have been the TPS but it Idles and runs great when I don’t let it slip into limp mode. If I don’t close the throttle all the way and slow to idle speed it will go into limp mode every time. but again as soon as I close the throttle and reapply its fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hello from Kentucky

Hello, my name is Richard Johnson, I have an 2013 Scrambler 850 XP LE. I am relatively new to the Polaris family I love my Scrambler but have been having several small issues most of witch have been resolved. I have been coming here and searching the sight for a while and have found answers I could use by reading previous posts. I still have one issue to resolve and will post it as soon as I read on and find the best place to do so.

Mud lite XLs or XTRs?

I am sold on ITP Mud lites as I had them on a 2012 grizzly and loved them. Worked great in the muskeg I ride and dug well in mud.
I have a 2016 outty 850 max xt and was thinking about going with the radial XTRs instead of the XLs. Weight doesn’t matter to me as I opened her up once, made 80mph with room to spare, and won’t ever do it again! So if I take 10 mph off the top so be it.
I mostly ride gravel/grass trails with minimal rock but occasionally run through black dirt/clay hauling firewood and making the once in awhile mud run. So with that in mind, should I go radial or not?

Speed Vs. RPM 2015 Sportsman 570 EFI

Today I was doing some yard work hauling branches up and down my yard and it seems like my Sportsman 570 runs hot cause At 4000 rpm I’m only going like 15-25 mph in high. I would like to know how fast are yall are going at 4000rpm with a 2015 sports man 570 EFI. If I’m correct I think these machines run pretty hot, Thanks to all who can help!

Rev-x tuning

Eventually plan to purchase a rev-x primary for my 850 max xt from one of the sponsors. The only mod I have is pit bull growler 2.5 tires at stock size.
I am mechanically dysfunctional so I have to rely on paying a mechanic yet don’t feel confident of my dealer or any local wrenches. Is clutch tuning pretty simplistic for any average joe mechanic or do I have to find a pro?
I don’t know what over rev, shift out, etc. is. I could care less about top end, having only hit 65 a couple times but would like to hit 65 as quickly as I can. Looking to get the hp to the ground low to mid range. Thanks
