Hey all. Been ready the fourm for a few weeks now. Bought a new bike last week. It was a hard choose between at 16 grizzly or a 2015 800r xt. I am Coming off a 2012 arctic cat 450. Well got the 800 and wow. These things do have power. Rides awesome very happy with decisions. So the question everyone asks. Tires. It will be zilla or mayhem Not sure on size 27-28. if I go 28 mayhem is there a big power loss. First time having this much power and don’t want to give any up. Will 28 fit without wheel spacers. I am using stock rims. Do you need a clutch kit. Some people say you have to trim some people say you don’t. Thanks in advance
Hi I’m currently fixing up my dads sportsman 700 I’m changing all the bushings an 2 rear boots have to be replaced finished the front no problem. I currently have the rear apart an need to get the axle out to get top of A arm out of the way also to change the boot I was told axle just pulls out I no there’s a snap ring on end of splin I just changed the axles on my 2015 sportsman 570 problem. But these 700 axles will not come out is it different then the 570 are does it just pull out. Bike has Ben sitting I’ve Ben spraying axle by gear case with p.b blaster does anyone no any trickes to get this axle out. Thank you.
A little background on how this problem occurred. Long story short, I was riding a little too hard and the front end slammed down pretty hard coming off of a hill. The atv threw error code 5 at me which, as I understand, is the angle sensor system/control motor lock. Apparently the problem corrected itself and I now no longer get code 5 anymore, even after performing code retrieval and erasing codes, redoing the process. The carburetor was pulled and cleaned a while back and now I get error code 4 (tps voltage out of specified value) on my display. I pulled the TPS from the carb and cleaned it as well as its’ connectors and dielectric greased everything, still flashing code 4.
Checked resistance of the sensor terminals and it’s reading around 5 kΩ which is within service manual recommended range of 4-6. Voltage readings of the wire harness connector terminals is 5 volts, which is within the recommended 4.7-5.3 volt range. When measuring TPS terminals while operating the throttle lever I get readings around 2 kΩ when fully close and 7.5 kΩ when fully open, which is way out of sync. Service manual has it at 0.5 to 4.0-6.0 kΩ when fully close/open.
So bad sensor or should I look somewhere else? I’m a novice and pretty clueless now lol. I have a new TPS set on the way from Partzilla so I plan on installing that ASAP. I plan on checking the ECM terminals at some point, however, it’s a b**** having to take the front fender off just to get to it.
Had a great, but short ride last weekend. Decided to take a stab at the Stage Coach trail, knowing full well we weren’t going to make it all the way either due to snow, downed trees or both. Anyone that lives around here knows its a rugged and gnarly trail, so as always no pictures or videos will do it justice. Got to meet some new people, and next time we’ll definitely have more riders. One of the old timers flipped his grizz on top of him and messed it up a bit, but he just took a few more pulls off his bottle and kept on truckin. It was raining pretty good so a lot of the pix are blurred on the helmet cam. Once I get a chance I’ll try to upload some vids with the new Sony Action Cam from the ride. :gcrules:
Hello,
I am new to Can-Am’s and I was wondering if it is normal to have a lot of heat coming out the left side by your leg. We have (2) 2016 570 Outlander L’s and noticed a lot of heat coming out. Is this normal? Can I change something so it’s not as hot? It doesn’t bother me to much but the little woman doesn’t like it. P.S. I love the machines, these are our first 4X4’s.
What are the 2 vertical holes on the left side of the front bumper of the HL 1000 I know the 4 in the 3×5 are to mount the winch are the 2 holes where the winch contactor solenoid is mounted? :thanks:
I have a 2011 Outlander 500 EFI with the Dalton Clutch. I’m looking for a tire that will dig but won’t wear out my parts as much as my 29.5 outlaw 1’s. My current tires and rims weigh In at about 50 pounds each. I was looking to downsize a bit but I still want a lot of tread depth to rip through a hole. I was looking at 27 inch Interforce II tires. Was wondering if anybody had ever run them. Any advice on a good mud tire that won’t kill my bearings ever 6 months would be appreciated. Below I included a pic of the Interforce II tire.
Hi too all. Just finished briefing thru your forum and like what i see. this is my first venture and thanks for being here..I am working on my friends four trax and here is the problem.. the 15 amp fuse up front blows after engaging then disengaging reverse. All electrical works normal with this exception. the only diagram i have is in the owners manual and that does not give me any clews as to a short in the reverse light circuit which would blow the fuse..
the sequence is : both the neutral and reverse lights indicate actual operating status thru the engaging of reverse, but when shifting out of reverse the 15 amp fuse blows and this disables , starter circuit, lighting and neutral/reverse light.
