2014 800 xt-p, bought new in July of ’14. I have 3400 miles on it, 95% fields and turnrows, the rest mud, water/hunting. I farm and use it to check crops.
Over the weekend if started a loping, very mild knocking noise from the rear differential, at the same speed of the driveshaft rotation. Earlier last week I put new U Joints, all went together well, in phase, all good. Quiet upon reassembly and probably put 50 mi on new joints
What yall think? I normally put 5K mi a year on my bike and 1,500 or so on my commander. This isn’t my first failure. Last summer I had a gearbox go out on a 500XT at 3800 mi, and 9 months old.
I am running 30" interforce for clearance, but it IS NOT used as a mud machine. I feel like breaking it open and looking before buying another diff. If gears are good and I can get another 6 months out of it with only bearing set, I may go that route.

I have a 98 TRX450es that will not start because it’s not getting fire. The battery is bran new and tests fine. The plug is new, coil tests (ohms out)fine. I even put the coil on another machine for extra assurance and it fires fine. I checked the start/stop switch, its clean and working. Next i moved to the ICM…i have a 96 TRX300 here so i swapped the ICMs and still no spark. Here’s the kicker…i have an ICM(CDI) box from a 98 XR650L so i put it on and the 4wheeler and it fired right up. So i ordered a new ICM put it on the 4wheeler and nothing! Put the one from the XR back on and it fires up. Ive tried to compare the schematics between the XR and 450 and the only real difference is the 450 has an ECM. I have checked the pulse generator (no peak voltage tester) but if it was bad it wouldn’t fire at all right? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post.
I’m new here. Just bought a 2016 700 EPS camo. Will 28" tires fit? I have a 2006 660 with 27". I swapped but front rims were different. But while I had the 27’s on the new one, it looked like 28’s would clear fine but I wanta make sure. And what tires are best? I have mudlite XTR on her 660 but they don’t come in 28’s.
Out in the yard doing some work and go to start it and it pops up a 12 on the dash and won’t crank. So I did my research and have found what it means, crank shaft positioning sensor. But, also found this video on YouTube claiming it’s the starter relay next to the battery. Well, between the 2 the starter relay is only 47 bucks, the other is a couple hundred! Anybody got any new info on this?
I pulled the relay and plugged it back in, and it started a few times, but then went back to saying the error code and not starting.

Cylinder replating to stock, overbore, stock and oversized pistons, gaskets and much more can be done here through Millennium Technologies. Along with all the services and aftermarket parts available I hope to be able to provide some technical help to anyone in need!
