Hey I am in search of info on a Honda fourtrax type 2 am looking to rebuild engine and wondering if there is a video or tutorial on how to do so and how to change the timing chain thanks god bless
I have a 2002 Foreman 450 ES and I have rebuilt the top end twice now. The first time was done by Southern Honda Powersports and the second time, by me. After both rebuilds, it started smoking. Now I have found an engine off of a 2000 Foreman 450 F, I know that the engine will bolt right up to my wheeler but what I don’t know is whether or not I’ll have to change the wiring harness. Are the harnesses the same for both year models? Any info on this will be much appreciated, and thanks for reading!
Hello folks. My name is Gary. Long time lurking around this site and decided I should join. Really great site with a ton of info. I currently have a 2012 rancher es 420 that I bought used with 100 hrs and 500miles. Have some problems to figure out but will post in the appropriate place. Other than that just thought I would introduce myself. Only have owned honda my entire life starting off with a 110 atc and a 185 act. That is what my dad started me with when I was 7 years old. Then he bought a 96 fourtrax 300 then a 2001 rancher and in 2010 gave me the rancher. I just sold that rancher to a buddy and bought this 2012 rancher…. Kicking myself for doing so because this efi in the winter is not very good. Any way enough rambling on. Hope to learn a lot more from everyone here.
i like you guys keep getting lots of puntchers from the prickley stuff ,:wtf: about twelve months ago had a flat back tyre and thought if i ride slowley back to the farm house i can fix it there, by the time i got back the tyre was roooooot ed ,:disappointed: a few weeks ago i went to my local gun shop for some ammo and a man at the counter was a pest control professional, ( aka pig hunter ) started talking and the subject changed to flats , he like many others has had many and delay his business for long poeriods while he fixes them , he then told me about an old bushy , ( aka farmer ) who said he fills the tyre with tennis balls which turns them into run flat tyres,:applaus: brilliant idea, the tyre won;t get damaged if you keep riding and later when you get a chance you can plug it and all good, i went to the two dollar shop and brought a bag full of tennis balls and when i get my polaris back from repair shop the two front tyres will get the treatment.
this forum is great , lovely members from all different parts of that other country over there, willing to share help with every problem that happens to a polaris:You_Rock_Emoticon: ( way to many to list ) sorry to see that the southern part will be run by donald duck in a few weeks ,but he may suprise all of us and do a good job.:laugh2:
will try to post some pictures soon showing my beast and were i go for fun.
is there a trick to posting pick;s .
I have a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. The four wheeler was running great, however, it died yesterday while driving on the trail. When I went to restart, the engine struggled to turn over (via elect start). I tried the pull start, however, it was very hard to pull.
I towed the four wheeler back to my garage to investigate further. I first jacked up the rear to lift the back tires of the ground. I tried to start again, no change. Thus, I assume its not a clutch issue. I then removed the spark plug and tried again. No change. The engine still labored to turn over.
I have inspected the flywheel and see no visible damage. Thus, I am stuck. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any other troubleshooting guidance you can provide? Thank you in advance.
