Hey all, just had to replace my tail light. When I turn on the key, the tail light works but also seems like the brake light is on too. When I press he hand brake, it just flickers as I let off, but stays bright all the time. So do I have the wrong bulb? I used a 1157 double filament from autozone.
Thanks!
So my friends 850 was overheating yesterday and cutting out. At first it sounded like his fan was not on while it was running, but later the fan was running. Temps were not real hot, probably 80F. My engine knowledge is based primarily around diesel engines so my first thought was a thermostat being stuck closed. I did not check for a collapsed radiator hose but his reservoir had coolant in it. Honestly I was under the weather yesterday and wasn’t real keen on even messing with it so I just recommended he load it up. Bad friend, I know, but I was feeling like crap. He has had the unit for nearly a year and this is the first time with the issue. I’m going over there today and I am going to check radiator hoses, coolant level in radiator and also make sure fins are clean on the radiator itself. I don’t think it could be an air in system issue since it hasn’t had anything done to it to introduce air into the system, but if everything else looks good, I may try to bleed it anyways. He has the extended warranty so he can take it back in for anything more than that. Anything else that anyone would recommend checking? Thanks.
I’ve searched a ton, but cannot find a picture or description that helped me figure this part out. Where is the peep hole to find the T that identifies tdc so I can adjust my valves? And I need to pull the valve cover on top of the engine to do so, correct? Because there is a black screw out cover that gives acces to one valve right above the carb. Thanks.

First thanks to you all for the help with my 1999 Sportsman 500 and getting it figured out and running. I am a newbie here – My youngest daughter has taken interest in it now that its fixed and now I have nothing to ride LOL so to keep the father/daughter thing alive I am looking at an investment for us to spend time together. My wife prefers fishing HA…..
That being said, I love the simplicity of the 1999 however I do like the thought of not having to work on things and replace old worn parts.
SO, in regards to simple, minimal repairs would a 2007 style chassis vs a 2012 chassis offer any advantages regarding reliability or repairs?
I like the newer style with the added carry space of the front rack over my 1999 like the 06 and up have. Are there any other major differences or notables I might like over the 1999?
THanks in advance for the info, I am looking at being a TWO Polaris family.
Just got a used trx90 that doesn’t start – Sprayed some starter fluid to see if I would get anything and nothing happened so assumed the issue was electrical. Replaced spark plug and coil. Does get a spark but it seems weak (i.e., it only sparks if I really pull hard, doesn’t spark if my kids pull the cord). Not quite sure what to check next. Am I safe in assuming that it is an electrical problem, given that nothing happened when I sprayed starter fluid in the carburator?
