Just a seal leak!

I noticed the seal on the front output leaking, not a bad leak but a leak none the less. Anyway I checked with the dealer and my extended warranty was to run out real soon, so I figured what the heck let them do it. I was planning on doing it myself cause it didn’t look like to big of job. Glad I didn’t have to do it.

Got my Big Bear running, kind of.

Got my Big Bear running last night. At first itstart and idle for 30 seconds then die. I took the carb off and cleaned it and the pilot jet was plugged. I road it around my property for about 15 minutes and it ran and started fine.

This morning I tried to start it and it acted the some. So I checked the pilot jet and it was clear. Was able to get it running when I turned the jet screw out to 3 or 3 1/2 turns. It ran but not smoothly. Checked all the filters even the one’s in the petcock and they were clean.

Well, I guess that’s what it’s like when your trying to get a machine running that’s been sitting for 3 years.

400ex oil check procedure

hey everyone, I know this is a potentially stupid question but im not too familiar with the dry-sump oil system in my 400ex (2001)
I’ve noticed that sometimes when I check my oil its extremely low, and other times I check it and its got lots. I always check the oil on flat ground. I put the 1.7 litres of oil in that Honda recommends when I first changed the oil, and I know the quad isn’t burning or leaking any oil. what causes this large discrepancy in oil level? I don’t want to over or under fill the reservoir.
does it have to do with the temperature of the engine? should I run the engine for a bit before I check the oil, to heat the block (thereby expanding the metal and displacing the oil into the oil reservoir?)
am I overthinking this? lol
thanks for any input.

1986 trx200sx

Hey guys! I just picked up a 1986 trx200sx, I know nothing about it other than the harness is butchered. I would like to rebuild it myself. I’m not a Novice but I can’t seem to find the correct wiring diagram, and don’t know the specifics on this atv. For example, does it need a battery to start if pull started, can I bypass the killswitch and ignition switch, does it have to have a key switch etc. So any help on this would be amazing! Thanks in advance!

Need Predator 500 Help!

My 2005 Predator 500 is leaking oil behind the front sprocket. I believe It needs a new countershaft seal to fix it. The thing is that I can’t find the part to save my life, so if anybody could send me the link or direct me towards the parts that would be awesome.
Thanks,
Zack

Battery and check engine light.

I have a 2014 Sportsman 800. Last week at the farm it kept flashing me a battery and check engine light intermittently. The bike has always been kept on a battery tender since it was new. It isn’t giving me any other problems besides the light. Is this the bike’s way of telling me it’s time to replace the battery? Or is it possible something else could be causing this. It’s not giving me any other signs of a bad battery and don’t want to fork over cash for a battery if this could possibly be something else. Thanks in advance for any help!
