2001 Polaris 50 Scrambler

2001 Polaris 50 Scrambler, new starter, battery, rectifier, cdi box, coil, stator put a 70cc jug on it and new carb with new jets…. Bike just won’t turn over like there is too much compression… I even hooked it up to my truck and and it still feels like there’s not enough power… I take the plug out and she turns over like nothing. Baffled here… Appreciate any input…

troubleshooting?

I have a 2008 450 Sportsman, I have just purchased it from a friend been sitting in the garage for two years! I rebuilt the carb and installed a new battery touched the key a fired up. we rode the bike for a couple of hours that day and put a tank of gas through it. rode it off and on for a couple more days and last week I was pulling a small utility trailer moving some things around a yard, the bike was siting idle and made a noise like a backfire and the bike went dead, it has not started since. since then I have changed the spark plug, fuel pump, and cleaned everything I can think to clean. I am getting gas, spark, and air but it still will not start. Any suggestions on where to start next?

Ceramic coating for heat

Okay I’ve tried just about everything for heat!

Wrapped stock exhaust, didn’t really help as much as I wanted. Still melted seat.

Took off stock heat shield and added heat tape. Didn’t help much.

So new exhaust was next approach , full muzzy duels and vforcejohn pc5. Pipe turned purple and Still running to hot melted the black side plastic and the cvt outlet snorkel . I put the dei floor and tunnel heat stuff on plastic beside exhaust. Seemed to just push the heat to a different part of the plastic where I didn’t have the heat tape. John told me I needed to change the afr to 12. 9 or 13.

Next step was to buy autotune so I can change afr. (Still working on tuning) but still ain’t seeing much changes in heat from exhaust. Got over 2 grand in exhaust turner and auto tuner. Bout 300 dollars in new plastic and seat.

If this autotune doesn’t help thinking of getting the exhaust ceramic coated. Anyone see much difference in heat from getting ceramic coated? Running out of options.. hate to sound like a dead horse. I know everyone is having problems with heat with the xmr. I just can’t seem to find a good solution to keep from melting plastic. So if anyone has any info on the ceramic coat if it helps or not any advice will be appericated. Thanks

Hello from Vancouver!

Hey guys just picked up my first ATV, a 2015 Polaris 570. I live in Downtown Vancouver, BC but am going to be storing and doing most of my wheeling in Chilliwack, BC. So far I had some fun at the Bench road In Chilliwack and did a couple trails in Coquitlim in the snow(Eagle Mtn)

Would like to hear about some cool trails around the Fraser Valley/Lower Mainland and hopefully meet other riders 🙂

2 Month Road Trip – Where To Ride?

So I’m going on a road trip starting in New York, going up the coast to Newfoundland, back down towards Chicago, across to Denver, up to Banff, across to Vancouver, and down to Los Angeles.

Not sure if I’m bringing my Rhino or my Outlander yet.

Favorite places to ride along those general areas? I like forest trails, mud, some rock crawling, scenery, views, lakes, that kind of thing.

Whats up from La

The real La, Louisiana.

New 2015 Honda rubi owner. Finally pulled the trigger on one. I was originally looking at bikes twice the size with twice the price tag. Saw a honda ad with the sale price, picked the bike up that weeekend lol. So far I love it. I live on a small river where the water averages 1-3 feet. The bike is perfect for it. Went with the 28" mega mayhems on 14" M20s. Love the way it looks. Got a 2500lb kfi winch tucked in there too. Next on the list is the HL diver down snorkel kit and 2" lift.

Defender Cab suspension

I have a defender hd 10 with cab and I added factory radio bumper led bar and couple misc things. After a weekend riding in the mountains I realized the springs are way to soft on the defender. I have maybe 2" of travel and the springs are set all the way stiff. Luckily I called my dealer and can am realized the issue and offer a set of heavy duty springs for the machine. They will be in tomorrow and I will give everyone an update with pics once they are on.

On the Trail with Discount Tire -Rally on the Rocks 2016″ Cliff Hanger”

Friday our trail was Cliffhanger. As you might be able to tell by the name, this trail is not for the faint of heart. It is rated 8 because of the 1000 foot plus drop at the obstacle called Cliffhanger on the edge of a cliff where you have to climb down and then back up some bone jarring ledges. If you have a fear of heights you may not want to go on this trail.

Unfortunately for us we had some breakage on a few side by sides, plus there was another group blocking the trail at Cliffhanger so we were not able to go to the end of the trail. I heard more than one driver say they have not seen so much carnage on this trail before.

There were a few broken parts but with a group effort everyone was able to make it back to the trail head.

A few photos from this ride:

Hope you enjoyed a brief look at the trails.
