ATV for 12 year old

when looking at ATVs they all had stickers on them for min. age

the youngest was 14 years old

is this something Polaris does? is this something the dealer does for legal reasons? or there a law regarding age and engine size?

i see posts of people letting their 12 year olds drive them……i know you can do whatever you want on your own land, but can a 12 year old drive a atv on a public trail(WI) ????

what im reading on line and what i saw at the dealer are 2 different things…id like to get my son his own atv…maybe a used 250…

also looking at dirt bikes for him…..but id think a atv would be safer and no clutch

thanks

Orderd Zilla’s got Wild Thangs…what would you do?

So as the title says, in a round about way, I ordered Zillas for my 13 Foreman 500 from the shop, and got CST Wild Thangs.

Let me start by saying I love the shop, and I have been going there for years…deal with the same guy even. But I had long conversation with the guy about tires, i wanted to get 26" mud lites for my foreman, but he talked me into the Zilla’s. Price was 330 for the 25" zillas, and 380 for the 26" zillas So I said ok, and he got them on the way, 2 days later the came in, i had them mounted, and walked out the door for $308 installed. I asked him about the price, thinking they should be more, but he said he got a deal on them, so he passed it onto me, fair enough, that was cool of him.

Got home to see that they were 25" Zillas, not the 26’s we talked about. I called him, and he was very apologetic, and said i could keep the 25’s or he would gladly order the 26’s. I said i really wanted the 26’s, he said no problem.

Next week came….no tires. The next week came, i call, and only one shows up. The next week comes, no tire. The next week comes, 1 more shows up. Today I call, and the rest came in….awesome!

He mounts them and puts them in my truck. I am standing at the register and ask him what the difference is, he states he messed it up the first time, and I dont need to pay the difference. I thank him, but say I dont want to stick him as they are small shop, and I like dealing with them. He still says dont worry about it. So I say well, then i gotta buy something, and proceed to buy one of their new t-shirts, some oil and a few other things….

Then i get home to mount my new tires, and well….they are the right size, but they arent the right tires. I have CST Wild Thangs! I see they 6 ply, made in China. Patten looks very close to the Zilla, but i know the Zilla’s are known for their light weight, which is why i wanted them, they also said they were not too loud and fairly smooth riding.

Whats your guys thoughts? I am into these for $308, should I just run them? Does anyone know where the Zillas are made? I am wondering around rubber compounds, ride quality, and weight? This wild thangs look like they will do good in the mud, but I did a ton of research on the Zilla, and kinda thought they would be the perfect tire for me.
