So I’m wondering if anyone else is having this problem with a ’16 or any other EPS Grizzly. Just to get it out in the open, I’m far from easy on her.
After my last ride I noticed she’s pulling to the left a bit, and I have to over steer to go straight. I checked out the ball joints tie-rod ends ect… the whole front end, and the wheels look really straight parked.
Just did a lower end rebuild on a 700 efi motor and the timing was 180 deg off (blowing from intake/sucking thru exhaust). I pulled the side cover and the cam gear, rotated the crank 180 and installed the cam gear back. No dice. Took the cover off again, this time observing the valve sequence and it seems as if the timing mark on the cam gear is 180 deg off. I adjusted the cam and reinstalled the cam gear with the mark 180 deg from the balancer timing mark and the engine is actually trying to crank up, but still wont quite get going. Anyone experienced a similar timing issue before or can give me and idea of how to go about timing the motor with incorrect timing marks?
I know, I should have marked the gear before disassembly, but I relied on the manual for reassembly. Next time!
What are some good riding places in Tenn or Ky that have cabin rentals? We have been to LBL/Turkey Bay for the past 10yrs or so and are wanting some place different for this years trip. We will be driving from northern Alabama (around Huntsville) so we would like to keep it under a 5-6 hour drive.
What tires are best for fire roads? In the Sierra Nevada’s near Tahoe (Truckee), where I live and ride, we are restricted to riding on fire roads. They can be rocky or smooth hard pack or pine needles. The roads here can get muddy, about 10" deep in spots, but not swampy. The streams I have crossed have had rocky bottoms.
My ATV is a 2010 Can-Am Renegade 500 with low miles and the stock ITP Holeshot ATR tires and 25x10x12 wheels. I’m an athletic but geriatric novice but I do occasionally climb hills that are steep enough to get me standing up and leaning forward.
I usually don’t go faster than about 30 mph because I ride to enjoy the scenery more than to scare myself. Also, the trails here are rocky enough that 20 mph is jarring enough. I’ve reduced the spring tension one click from the center. That and 5 PSI tire pressure seems to work well for me and so far I have had no conspicuous traction problems.
My Holeshots work fine but tires with bigger lugs look like they would be much better in more challenging terrain and more confidence inspiring in typical terrain.
Here is a list of considerations:
Don’t need high speed.
I think weight is not an issue because so far my Rene 500 has been more than powerful enough.
Don’t need real good mud performance.
Usually ride by myself so I want tough tires. Haven’t had a flat yet with the Holeshots but carry puncture plugs and a compressor.
Smooth riding is important so tires that work well at low pressure is good.
I’m cheap so durability is preferred to light or sticky.
Working in up to 6" of snow would be nice.
I’m too chicken to power slide but I would rather slide than tip over.
Here is a list of tires that would fit and I think would work:
Pitbull Growler (Expensive but I like the big lugs and sipes. They look gnarly grippy and tough.)
Carlisle 489 (Cheap but probably good enough)
Maxxis Big Horn (Almost universally popular general purpose tires)
ITP Baja Cross (Tough 8 ply, big lugs and a lot of rubber for the money but mixed reviews.)
At this point I believe I know just enough to be dangerous so any feedback and correction of false logic would be appreciated!
A friend of ours has an awesome collection of rare, exotic sport bikes and much more! Below is a link of all his toys. It’s not exactly directed to our forum here, but I thought any go fast junkie would appreciate how nice of a collection he has no matter what it is!
I’m having problems with my 2016 xmr visco lok QE. It seems like it is clutching or something and is making a weird sound. And ever since then it makes a noise. Not ever loud but you can still hear it just driving without visco lok engaged. Can anyone help me? Thanks
