Wireing issues with lights

I have a 420 fa es 4×4 2009 model and my rear brake switch has to be made before headlights will work. In others words the brake light has to be on before the headlights will work. I by passed the rear brake switch and headlights work and brake light shines bright. When i untwist the wires where the circuit isnt made my headlights and brake light go out. Any suggestion on a fix?

Snorkel for 450 L Outlander

Thinking about getting an Outlander 450 DPS for the wife to ride. I see in the Can Am accessories that the snorkel kit if for all Outlanders "except with 400 engine". I am wondering of it will work on the 450 L….or are the instructions just behind a bit. The 450 is still a 1 cyl motor like the 400. I put a Snorkel Your ATV kit on the wife’s old 08 EFI 400 and it was a PITA, so I was hoping the Can Am part will work. Anyone have any experience here?

I will be coming back to Grizzly

Hello folks, I have been away for a few years, I sold my 2008 550 Grizzly back in 2011-2012, I have been caring for my mother and had no time to take trips/using the machine, my mother passed away this past September 🙁 severe grief as she was my best friend and primary inspiration in life.

Anyway I did continue to be an avid snowmobile rider/enthusiast because there are local trails within a mile of my home, every chance I got (when there was snow and the trails were open) I would hit the trails for a few hours (when I had someone to watch and care for mom) I do have some sick sleds as well as a few vintage snowmobiles <3 .

Back to ATV’s, I sold mine because it sat, I was lucky to ride it one weekend out of the year….now I can travel and want to begin taking odd trips to the UP, Tennessee and wherever with my older brother who is a long time avid ATV’er (Honda guy :()

I have been shopping local Yamaha dealers and decided not to purchase a new machine, I do not want to spend more than 6K…I know of a one owner 2013 550 EP Camo w/factory winch for sale that only has a few hundred miles, mint like new, the only mod I would make is new tires Maxxis Big Horns or similar….I am fine with the power of a 550 as I do not plan to do wheelies or race anyone….I just want to ride the trails and hit the mud swamps (hunting)

What do you folks think of the 2012-2013 Yamaha 550’s? are there any issues recalls that I should be aware of? I have ridden 700 Grizzly’s and yes the power difference quite noticeable, but again I don’t need it…being 53 years old I will not be getting to crazy.

Any input or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Need some tire advice

Looking to replace stock tires on my stock 2016 grizzly 700 and stock 2016 kodiak 700 looking at putting 28" mega mayhems on the grizz and 27" mega mayhems on the Kodiak. My question is is anybody running these tires on stock machines and if so how much of a power loss due to the extra weight. Also goes the stock rim weights compare to the itp steelies weights. I like the look of the itp steel wheels. Thanks for any input.

Need new eps unit

Folks, it’s been a while since I was on here last. My 2010 550 eps unit has shat the bed. I spliced in a new relay to no avail. Electrical tests with the multimeter show power. My dealer is worthless and wants me to drop off my wheeler for 4+ weeks just to reflash the eps unit. As I use my wheeler almost daily around the house and the occasional ride, dropping it off for a month is not happening. I’ll be making the two hour drive to another dealer when time permits. I’m looking at the worst case and thinking I need a new unit. Im surprised my dealer can even spell Polaris without looking up, I won’t ask them anything questions. My question, what years and machines power steering units cross over to the 2010 sportsman xp? Anyone have compatible eps model numbers handy? 2413038 is the "new" part number cycleparts has listed. I’ll never pay msrp for a new one so I’m be looking on eBay I guess.
Thanks in advance
