I have a 2014 570 SPORTSMAN with 350 miles on it… there is a bridge closed near my hunting place that gives me a long stretch of highway with. No traffic on it. Gave me the perfect opportunity to see what it will top out at. 64mph for me. Anyways, on the return trip it started backfiring and losing speed rapidly. So i let off and it died. Tried restarting it to no avail. I thought I killed it. I decide to take the side panels off and change the spark plug… The spark plug wire had vibrated loose. Reattached and ran just like it was before. WHEW!!!! But I did learn one thing, the spark plug adapter that comes with the kit will not go in the recessed hole because it hits the gas tank. Not easily anyways. So be prepared, take an actual Plug socket and a socket wrench with you.
I’m not a big fan of the always on tail light or the delay after the bike is shut down. For night hunting purposes going in and out of the woods, I’d much prefer to ride with as little light as possible, even with just my head lamp is sufficient. I know it’s a safety feature, but is there a way to get rid of the tail light being on with the ignition and/or getting rid of the delay after the bike is shut off? I considered a switched fuse and this is probably what I’ll go with, but I want to totally black the bike out. Running lights, pod backlight and brake light. Can the dealer reprogram the computer to make the running lights only on with the headlights?
Did a quick search on this and didn’t come up with anything. Yesterday took my 16 Scrambler 1000 out and we were cruising pretty good thru the trails, i hit a burm and jumped the bike. This was not a table top jump just got a little air. well i must have come down on a rock or something i heard it hit and it did not sound pretty. Got off and looked and it sheared two of the bolts that hold the oil filter cover off so only one was holding it on, and the skid plate was pretty banged up. I kept riding but could feel a noticeable vibration so today i crawled under it and the skid plate is actually bent up so far its touching the bottom of the motor. this is also the skid plate polaris was so gracious enough to weld to the frame… anyone else had a similar experience and how did you go about getting it off? I am thinking of grinding the welds off but hate to screw up the frame. any suggestions would be great. I’m kind of disappointed i was told this bike was made for stuff like this and it sure isn’t holding up to it as i was told. Not sure if this is something they will warranty but i highly doubt it.
I bought an Outlaw 90 a few days ago and did some led mods, found a matching helmet, done the routine maintenance, and she’s ready to go. We have a 14 and 16 yr old in the house and they have been enjoying it for a few days. The quad is in really good shape. The tie rods were super loose when we got it so I had to go back and loctite them since the cotter pin doesn’t snug up to the nut. Nothing bad to speak of, we are happy with it. Been having a blast.
I have previously posted 4 .jpg images to this site and find the process straightforward. However, now I can not do this, and receive the following error message: "This is not a valid image file".
The file is .jpg format, 85 kb (yes, kb), and I have also tried .bmp, and .gif. I also can not upload files that I previously uploaded. These are simple images less than page size. I have tried three different browsers (IE, Firefox and SeaMonkey) and have JavaScript enabled and all cookies on. I have restarted my computer, cleared the cache and waited until the next day.
I know the image files are "valid" types. I just don’t know why I can not upload. Everything works fine until I hit the upload button.
Any help would be appreciated. I just completed a study on ATV Stability vs Load Distribution and am anxious to post the results….)
Will replacing a stock air filter on a 2015 Grizz 700 with a Uni or Twin Air filter cause any problems? Would this require any changes? I am not changing the muffler or anything else at this time.
Fired up my ATV a coupple of days ago and drived a little bit but suddenly it died.
I check the spark plug and it seemed bad. I tried to change that to a new one and then it sparked, started but still same problem. Seems like it has bad spark.
Does anyone know where to start? What can i check?
