Can’t get new cargo box brake light to work

Anyone out there have a similar problem with wiring up an aftermarket cargo box with heated passenger grips and a tail/brake light? I’ve installed the box and hooked up the wiring as per the wiring diagram. The hand warmers work as they should, and so does the tail light, but I can’t get the brake light working. I’m a mechanic, not an electrician so I’m confused about the way the power runs thru the stock tail/brake light wires. This is what I’ve found so far……With the ignition on, the orange wire AND the red wire (see pics) both have 12V power. The orange wire feeds power to the tail light as it’s always on when the ignition is on. Here’s the confusing (to me) part…..When the brake pedal is pushed, the power on the red wire is gone. The middle black wire never has power, so I assume it is ground. According to the wiring diagram from the box manufacturer, Wes Industries, the brown wire coming from the cargo box is tail and the yellow is brake. I can connect brown to orange which gives me tail but how do I connect the yellow to give me brake? I’ve emailed the box maker but no response (yet). Big thanks to whoever can steer me in the right direction!

decided to buy a 1000

so I went to the dealer and decided to negotiate between scramber 1000 and sportsman 1000 – I would go witht he 850 but knowing me, im going to be like "darn I want more power" unless the weight ratio to HP is different – which I know the can am 800 vs 1000 was like that (not sure about now) the 800 would do better in mud because it was lighter.

so..I need your guys opinion and real life experiences with these machines. I live in Colorado, so mostly long trail rides. Mostly high speeds (where safe) I loveeeeee riding in the snow, so idea machine would be good in snow.

however, I do rock crawling as well. some are technical where I need to shift my body; at time, I have to stand on one side of the atv to promote even balance.

so between scrambler and sportsman 1000 which has best and safest balance for technical climbs (descending and ascending) also can handle powering through the deep snow
People were saying the scrambler 1000 is a much different beast than the sportsman 1000. What worries me is how small the scrambler is when doing technical climbs; how stable would it be.

First Can-Am =]

Hi! I’m 15. Me and my dad just bought a 2009 Outlander 800 XT. Moving out to a rural area so should be lots of fun. Its got Snorkels, rad relocate, passenger seat with storage, full underbody skid plate, and some other cool stuff. Only ever drove it in a driveway so far… but i’m pretty sure we found out why it was so cheap lol. not running right at all.. Looking at some review i’m pretty sure its just the fuel pump. Running lean, power isn’t there backfires while accelerating ect. Anyways excited to get it going on some trails =]

85 Honda Fourtrax TRX250

Help!! I just bought a 85 Honda Fourtrax 250. I have no electrical working. It does run as long as I kick start it but I would like to get the electrical up. I have replaced the battery and checked the fuse near the battery that is labeled fuse. It is working fine as well. I have no idea where to go to next. Can anyone please help me with this?
