I recently went on a ride and the atv started backfiring and sputtering until finally dieing. I figured it had to be a dead battery. Sure enough it was. So we jumped it and it ran fine then did the same thing. Voltmeter gets 8v upon jumping and immediatly it deains to about 6v then dies. The battery is good ive tested that. So it has to be the charging system. Im not very familiar with non alternator style charging systems does anyone have some advice on what part might be bad, where its located, or procedures to do? Thanks for your time.

My bike wouldn’t idle at all when winter was over. Brought it into the shop and now it idles too high. He cleaned out the iacv, but now it’s making a loud buzzing noise. Maybe time for a new iacv? I just had the whole throttle body assembly out and cleaned it, still no difference. So must be some kind of sensor, right?

Got tired of looking at the stock graphics so I painted the quad with plasti-dip and made some decals with my plotter.

I feel like taking a trip to the hatfield mccoy trails again. would like to tent camp at or near ashland resort. leaving from south chicagoland. i can haul 4 atvs on my trailer.

not sure when to go. just thought i would throw this out there to see if anyone else would be interested.

Hello I just put a new head gasket on my Xplorer because I was burning coolant, I drained the case and found some coolant and oil in the case. I was wondering if there is supposed to be any oil such as counterbalance oil or no? I recently purchased this fourwheeler and am I not too familiar with it yet.

Well I finally broke down and got an exhaust for my Polaris Sportsman 1000 after doing much reading on the internet and watching videos and I decided to go with the GSE exhaust. I ran it up and down the street today for a few minutes the sound is unbelievable it’s not too overbearing but sounds great and it does seem like it’s got a little bit more pick up not that it really needed it. But I did notice a smell when I parked it…I’m not sure if that’s normal maybe it is…some of you guys who have bought one can tell me. I’m going to try to go and ride Sunday and I’ll give you a full report

I have replaced the battery, battery cables, starter solenoid, etc. When I installed a new battery cable, the electric start, lights, etc. worked perfectly…

I rode for a while, turned the key off…

Turned the key on about an hour later, and nothing. Deader than dead.
What would cause this to happen? I’m running out of things to replace! (I can still pull-start it…)

Hey guys, I bought an 03 700 a few weeks ago and have been lurking here to find info to fix it, shes running pretty good but I have a problem. The speedo is always in diagnostic mode and since tonight the speedo stays on and the and the needle is blinking, even with the key shut off. I just disconnected it for tonight but would like to resolve the problem asap. Everything seems to work on the bike AWD, lights etc, I’m thinking maybe a ground problem.

Every time I take spark plug out its dirty is there a way to clean inside motor with out tearing the whole thing down I hear about using diesel . but do I pour it where the plug goes? ..I hear fill it all the way up then drain into a strainer and keep doing it until it clear of all debris but will that clean top end

I have been having this problem for almost 6 months and almost exhausted every possible solution. This is close to the last thing I can think of.

My problem is that it won’t hold any oil in the oil tank and it smokes excessively when I put the correct amount in. I can put 4 quarts of oil in and it wont register on the dip stick.

I just replaced the oil screen, the pump, and checked all the lines, and oil cooler for flow. I left the output side of the oil cooler disconnected and oil was slowing coming out when i turned over the engine.

One thing I noticed is that the guy before me drilled a hole into the dip stick. Does anyone know if there is a vacuum or pressure build up needed that would cause oil to not circulate properly? I know there is pressure does build up in the tank because when I turn it over, oil shoots out the tiny hole he drilled.
