Shim question

So I just put the 1.5mm shim in my grizz, and it went very smoothly. Rode it down the street and would say my low end is back to stock after installing my tires you see below. With the tires below, it definitely lost low end, and it drove me nuts. I like a lot of low end, so what are my next options if any to get more low end? I like to wheelie over stuff without even thinking about it. Is that even possible on a grizz? A different quad is out of the question, as I only ride Yamaha. I have the purple spring, but did not install it, because I read to try and shim first and see if the belt slips, it didn’t but I was only on my street. Will installing the spring help low end? Options?

2007 Power Distribution Module issues

I’ve been searching for an answer to this problem for years. 2007 Sportsman X2 500. When riding and doing climbing or heavy work the engine would stall. It would restart but happened several times and always had a feeling that i would be stranded. Dealer found no issues. Searching online I found several mentions of the PDM (power distribution module) and ECM (electronic control module) issue on this model polaris.
I decided to take a chance and instead of having the dealer check it out, just ordered a PDM replacement. After taking the old one off, I removed the back and you can see that the OEM part never had a good seal and dirt and water got in. This looks like it caused some corrosion and perhaps some shorting when things heated up. It is mounted just in front of the radiator. Attached are the photos of what it looked like.
Thanks for the advice from the Forum. I sure I saved several hundred $ fixing it on my own.

new project/toy (non ATV)

I just picked up another toy of sorts, and a project
as I had a chance to grab a solid older sled, that had most all things
just all done and some power mods, as well!
running about 155 hp as she sits, not so pretty but reliable
Plan to clean it up some and minor things its a 97 ZRT 600, has incorrect hood on it, but do have correct one
also got a TON of extra’s with the deal!

Not many folks I gather thinking SNOW this this time of yr, but, hey it was 39 degree’s here this morning, felt like snow? Burr!!

crazy weather, 90 yesterday and then 39 this morning????

2014 sportsman NEED HELP loose bolt

so i was washing the wheeler after a ride and noticed this bolt backed all the way out luckly it hit the plastic and didnt fall out i wasnt able to move it in or out by hand but with a ratchet i turned it almost all the way back in it stoped about an inch short of all the way in i dont know if there was a nut that i lost or if it threads into something thats why im here


Mt Washington ride

Looking forward to riding up Mt Washington this year . Last year was a rain out . Been praying to the sun gods for clear and Awesome !!!
My girlfriend is a little nervous about riding there , but I told her we are not married and I still want to keep her , so she is safe !!!! Looking forward to meeting new friends !!!

2008 500 efi touring questions

1st post! So bare with me. I am looking at picking up this model. Has low hrs & miles. First question, is there a power steering kit for it? All the ones I found state that they do not fit touring machines.

Next question, what is a good plow kit? I am thinking a 54" model. Are the Eagle plow kits any good? Says front mount, mid mount would be better correct?

Anything else I should know before looking at it?

Polaris SM XP 850/1000 vs Kawi BF 750i EPS

I have (2) Kawis now…an 09, and a 12 with EPS. Was really hoping they would step up their game with at least an 800 several years ago, but nada.

Looking to trade in my 09 b/f it gets too old.

Was dead set on a Sportsman 1000 XP but then I started looking online and the horror shows I have read are truly scaring me away.

I have a 15′ RZR900s and a SBA144/RMK 155 Pro sled…all have been great, but I know the ATVs are a different ball game…so…please lay it on me for trouble areas, etc.

I mean we are talking 50HP vs. 70+ to 88HP…but I hear it’s all up top and not usable…for mud and trails.

I hear ground height/clearance is not nearly what Poo claims due to way too plush ride on way too soft springs so it sags under your weight and it’s much heavier self vs. the Kawi.

Plow mounts mean I can’t swap my Moose over…all Poo stuff.

Also hearing zerk fittings are awful to access and many electrical connections are still not water proof…

Never mind several frame cracking areas that should be a recall from what I understand…
