Attention – Password and Security Update

Hello all,

Over the next few days we will be implementing some changes to our forum password strength and password expiration policies. To make sure you continue having the best experience possible on the community, we regularly monitor the site and the Internet to keep everyone’s account information safe. We’ve recently become aware of a potential risk to some accounts coming from outside of this community. Just to be safe, we are implementing the following changes to improve security even further:

1) We are asking everyone to change their passwords (and will force a one time reset). Along with every user on the forum, new passwords will need to be more complex, and can’t be simple words (sorry, you can’t have "fluffy" as your password anymore!). Please use a password unique to this community. Reusing passwords can expose your account indirectly when other websites (Twitter, Linkedin, Badoo, etc) are compromised; and

2) Your passwords will expire on a 365 day basis. When you login on the 366th day, you will have to change it.

We’ll also be sending out an email to users to let them know about the changes, in upcoming weeks.

Thanks all,

Helena

400EX Jetting with ’04 450R Carb

Hello everyone. Getting an ’04 TRX450R carb soon for my ’04 400ex as well as the throttle cable and lever. I was wondering if anyone could help me with a range of Jets, yet again for my mods and elevation. Everything is stock except I run a Full Yoshimura Exhaust System and with no lid. Elevation is approximately 2,175 ft. Temps are now anywhere from 80 to 110 degrees.

Iron Baltic HDPE Skid Plates Initial Review

After lots of looking I decided to go with the HDPE skid plates from Iron Baltic for my 2015 Outlander L 570 Max…the L is important and I’ll tell you why below!

The package was ordered on a Tuesday and delivered by Friday to Toronto, Canada. All contents were neatly and securely packed for the international shipment. I did a quick inventory and all contents arrived exactly as I ordered….even a few extra washers and nuts as a bonus.

I was only able to raise the ATV up on blocks which gave me enough room to crawl underneath for the install. Not ideal but I was able to make it work. Instructions and pictures were clear enough to comprehend and everything was going great, until it wasn’t.

As I got to the 2nd to last piece, the front nose plate, I realized right away that the piece I had was not going to fit my machine – too long and not the correct angles. Frustration set in. I checked the website only to find out that I had ordered skid plate set for Outlander G2 Max instead of the Outlander G2 L Max. I’m such a goof.

A quick email to Nils Laur at Iron Baltic confirmed my error. Nils offered to send the nose piece + hardware I needed for a small fee. By the end of the week the project was done.

Long story short….Great initial review of the product – hardware, panel fits, etc are all top notch. Excellent customer support. Make sure you don’t repeat my mistake! And I have a nose piece and rear arm guards sitting in my garage if anyone wants to make me an offer! Nils even offered to make a deal on getting the rest of the package you would need to complete the build. PM me if interested.

2002 Kodiak front rims

One of my front rims has rusted thru on the bead, I haven’t been able to source a second hand one here in Australia, are any other makes (Suzuki, Kawasaki, ??) compatible, I suppose if offsets are different I may be able to get 2 and at least be the same!

Code/Diagnostic Reader

Is there something on the market I can plug into our machines and read what the faults are? Looking to purchase for my dad who works on multiple machines. We currently have a 2011 550, 2013 Sportsman 850 touring and a 2016 scrambler 850 between the both of us and friends that have 2012-2016 Sportsman’s as well. A number of years back it was dealers only. Wondering if anyone has found a hack for it or a company made one finally.

Ignition power issue

I have a 05′ sportsman. It started most times but off and on decided to not. No power to ign at all. I jumped it at solenoid and turn key to start and good to go. Now it’s to the point it will just stop running. Jumping don’t work either anymore. Even when the key did work at the last sometimes it really strained to start after a guy was really working the bike using power.
Battery is full charge. Tested power at ignition and it’s only 5.4 v. Cut that wire and run jumper from hot on solenoid. Won’t turn over. Run another jumper from ign side to coil and fires up and runs. Just gotta pull jumper from coil to kill it. Running it like that to long will kill the coil I think.
From my understanding the power goes from battery to CDI to ign to coil.
I get no voltage at the Cdi plugs with ign on.
I do get power at the ecm though..
With the scenario obove, what ya think?
CDI box pooched?

2005 DS650X Won’t Start

Hey guys. I’m pulling my hair out with this issue. I have a 2005 DS650X and neither my mechanic nor can I get it started. It ran perfect last year and this year it just won’t start. Here are the facts and what we’ve done to try and solve the issue:
1) Nice blue spark firing on every stroke
2) 150 compression
3) Cleaned carb thoroughly and adjusted accurately
4) New fuel
5) Timing has been reset and is right on
6) Key way pin has been checked and is in perfect condition
7) Used gas spray bottle to the carb and still isn’t firing
8) Has the odd backfire while cranking over
9) Gap between the trigger coil and guide piece is accurate
My machine is completely stock. Any recommendations?
