front diff didn’t hold the spec amount

Hello everyone. I’m hoping to have some clarification on this…

I just got a 2011 550 Sportsman eps touring. I am slowly working my way through the fluids. Last night I changed the front differential fluid. The manual says that it should hold 9.3 OZ. The capacity was no where near 9.3 oz. I think it may have held closer to 5 or 6 oz.

Has anybody else had this issue before?

Thanks id advance,

Tim

difference in 2 cycle oil small engine / atv injector oil

Hi everyone,

Is there any difference in 2 cycle small engine vs 2 cycle injector oil?

Background, sold my ATV (400 2 stroke) which has been looked after for 20 years, always used Polaris 2 stroke injector oil. This ATV didn’t see mud or water, light work around the house, take kids for drive in the neighborhood…etc.

Young Lad I sold it too contacted me to say the engine seized on second trip on the bike, first trip bike worked "awesome", put some oil in it and seized while riding the second trip.

He says he put "2 cycle oil for small engines from a small container"

I told him up front when he purchased it, the in’s and out’s from a to z…again this bike was well taken care of. Manual went with bike when sold. He test drove the bike, his buddy did too.

So what is the difference between atv 2 cycle injector oil and 2 cycle small engine? Is this the cause?

Thanks

Almost time for a new atv.

So after my last bike was deemed totaled by the insurance company 4 or 5 months ago. I’m looking to get a new fourwheeler after the 20th. I haven’t decided if I wanna go the same route of buying a honda foreman brand new or go different brand or even maybe a Rubicon. I haven’t decided if I want new or used. I’m going to get the basic model nothing fancy. I wanna keep it simple. All the atvs I’ve bought used I knew the person well and so I figure they would be straight shooters with me. And they were. I might even end up with a side by side by the end of it. I go into a dealership and stuff grabs my attention so I’m kind of all over the place. I’ve been looking at atvs but never saw anything that I 100% wanted or thought the price was good. So any suggestions on what to get. My foreman I had 3500 miles on it in 2 years so it’s going to rack up a ton of miles quickly. I do trail riding, some mudding and some work. I would have to say 60% trail riding 20% mudding and 20% working. I pull a trailer every now then and then they trailer usually doesn’t get but 1000 pounds put on it and it’s a 14ft trailer. So any suggestions? I’m all ears. Also I want to be able to do at least 50 to 55 mph when I’m riding sometimes.

I’m new!

Hi, My name is Konstantinos. I’m from Greece leaving in Cyprus.

I currently have an Kawasaki Z800 motorcycle and I want to buy an Renegade x Xc also.

The reason I registered at the forum is because I seek some advises.

I heard some rumors about new regulations in Europe from 1/1/2017. The story is the following:

I visited the local dealer in Cyprus for Can Am to do some questions and I left a little confused. He told me that the regulation are changed and that from 1/1/2017 none off road vehicle will be able to registered as road legal. He told me also that all companies may make changes at the future to make possible the registration again but that will take 2 to 3 years or more.
Can you please delight me about this.
What is true and what is not?
What companies are planning for those changes?
My purpose to buy one, of course is off road but I want to be able to drive it at my area, or on the way to trails.

One other thing, the 570cc x Xc is enough for just having fun?

Last question, I know that Renegade is for one, but I have seen a lot videos on youtube with two on. I wanted to know if for a relaxed ride I can take a second person on with total 130kg both.

Any advice would be great.
Thanks.

Relays!

Okay so have yall evern wondered how relays work? Well imgoing to teach you to the best of my ability.
First, what is a relay? Basically its using low volts to control large volts (ex. Starter solenoid switch) all it is is a electromagnet that whem activated flips a switch. They keep high voltage away from the inside of a car or the handle bars of an atv.

Second, on a relay you have 5 pins, confusing right? Not if you know what they are.

Terminal 85- the relay ground (youd wire it like a regular ground)
Terminal 86- the trigger terminal(where the electricity that controls the electromagnet goes in)
Terminal 30- the terminal that goes to the wire that supplies power to the "load"
Terminal 87a the terminal that normally has power coming from it (in the example of a fuel pum relay you could wire a light that is on when your fuel pump is off)
Terminal 87- the terminal that supplies power to whatever you are powering. Is off when the relay IS NOT on (electromagnet is not powered)

Hopefully this helps people!!!!:smile::smile::smile::smile::smile:
