Hi there! 🙂 I’m obviously new and will most likely have a bunch of repair questions about my 2002 Sportsman 700 Twin. If you’re good at fixing stuff add me as a friend if you’re okay with answering questions! Thank you in advance!:thanks:
I recently discovered that my 2002 Sportsman 700 Twin is mixing coolant with oil and oil with coolant. I switched out both the water pump and oil seals along with the impeller but when I put everything back together and reintroduced coolant into the machine everything I put in comes rushing out of the weep hole. Did I mess up the water pump seal when putting the new one in or is this a sign of something else that needs to be fixed? Help! :sad2:
I just put slugs and a cheap one way bearing in a Grizzly 700, now when I let off the gas it makes a loud clank noise. Does anybody know what this could be?
I am a first time owner of a 2006 grizzly 660. I bought it from a neighbor and I know of him fairly well.
The good; it runs like a scared cat, winch up front, winch in back, lift kit, oversized tires and rims, led bar and bags, snorkel kit and the plastic is in very good shape. I actually love this quad already.
The bad; speedo and hour meter does not work and the red reverse light is flashing, headlights and taillights do not work but brake lights do.
Any information would be helpful. I am ordering a manual as well. Thanks in advance, DonAttachment 35241
so i took my machine for warranty last week do too the pinion tearing out of the front diff.. Had no problem getting warranty for the diff but the dealer said that the ujoints on the front driveshaft were seizing up and polaris won’t cover them. The dealer went ahead and changed them without notifying me and are now charging me $200 parts and labor. WTF? I only have 250 miles on it and and just due now for the first service at 20 hours. Any one else have this problem? They should not be seizing up yet if the dealer did a proper PDI on it. what are your thoughts? Do i have grounds to deny payment?
I searched online and multiple forums and can’t find the Honda OEM part number for the OEM oil filter. I just picked one up at the local dealer (15412-KEA-003) to use tonight and the parts guy didn’t seem too sure he was picking the right one.
I’m at work and don’t have owner’s manual to confirm 15412-KEA-003 is correct. Can anyone confirm this is the right oil filter?
They are not open tonight and need to change oil for weekend runs. 🙂
So, has anyone looked at the potential of adding the 2016 3rd headlight to the 2014 Grizzly? I’m unsure if they changed the mounting of the handlebars between the years.
Greetings from Central Oregon. I dug this 1988 Fourtrax 300 out of my grandparents pasture a couple of weeks ago. My grandpa bought this when it was new and used it up until a couple of years ago when he broke the driveshaft at the u joint. Unfortunately pieces of the drive shaft traveled up and broke the out put gear case so that also needed to be replaced. He ended up buying a new one instead of fixing this one and the trusty old ’88 has been sitting in the pasture ever since.
This ATV is rough, but I have fond memories of bombing through the orchards when I was younger so I’m pretty determined to make this one work. I didn’t realize at the time that I was going to have to pull the motor and split the case to put the output gear case back on but I think I can figure it out between youtube videos and the clymer manual.
My questions are…
– I accidentally bought a output gear case for a 4×4 instead of a 2×4. Is it going to cause any problems to bolt this one up instead of the correct one ? I don’t really care if the forward splined end spins while it runs.
– Do I need to replace gaskets etc ? What other supplies will I need ?
– Also, is there anything else I should be thinking about doing while I have the motor on the bench ? Pretty sure this motor hasn’t been touched in 30 years other than general maintenance.
On a handiness scale, I’d give myself about a six out of ten. I’m a little out of my element with this project but I think I can tackle it myself hopefully with the help of you guys.
