Ok to run fan constantly?

I just did the "fan mod" on my xmr to help with the cooling of the engine. My question is, if I run the fan constantly, even before the engine gets to operating temperature will it cause any problems with the engine, etc.? And will that help with keeping the operating temps lower by having it run all the time?

New member from… Haiti!

Hello everyone!

My name is Jason. My wife (Allison) and I live in Haiti, on the island of La Gonave. A few guys from the states donated an aquaponics system to a childrens village on the island, so my main purpose here is managing this pilot system. My wife was a nurse back home (Indiana) and so she’s working at the Haitian nursing school, as well as the IWU nursing students that choose to do a semester abroad here.

Currently, we have two "cars". First, I have a small 150cc Haojin moto. Second, and the reason I joined, is we just purchased a used 2006 Grizzly 660 for my wife’s car. There’s one small section of paved road on the island, with the rest being dirt/gravel/dust paths almost. Also, the quad is easier to carry back jugs of drinking water and cooking propane from the store 🙂

Greetings from Germany

Hello,

I live in Germany and just bought a 2005 DS650.
It was in pretty good condition and previous owners did some nice adjustments.
I hope I can get some good advice here to keep my DS in good shape. Its almost impossible to find parts here in Germany, so I think I will order most things from the US.

Please excuse if I make any grammar mistakes.

So long :thumbsmilie:

Oem oil filter part number? 2013 850

The dealership I got all my supply’s from locally just went to selling only Harley Davidsons so they no longer sell my oil filter, I did a search on Amazon and eBay and found off brand but couldn’t find any oem ones, does anyone have the part number I can search? Feel stupid not being able to find it. Thanks!

Engine Managment Problem

Have had a reoccurring engine light coming on after full throttle /full speed pulls after more than 15-20 seconds. One symptom is the fan not switching on when the temp sensor and thermostat have both been replaced. The second thing which is now occurring on the heads up display is my RPM is completely out of whack. RPMs are now showing in the minuses, like -21 to the -2500 and higher which is now (seems to be) permanent thing my heads up is now monitoring. I’m now thinking the engine light is turning on because it sees this abnormal RPM condition. The service manual says very little on the RPM monitoring circuit. The fan motor does kick on and cool the engine after several minutes eventually but seems to be hesitating to come on. Any ideas here ?
