ECM Power Issue

Hey guys I am putting my bike back together after having the motor out to repair a snapped throughshaft. I am running into an electrical issue with the ECM. Basically what happens is when i turn the key on and the power switch on nothing happens. No fuel pump, no podlights…. Nothing.

I do have the shop service manual and it has some usefull information under the engine management section. I have followed it and found the following results.

Fuse 4-good
Fuse 7-good
Fuse 8- cannot find
Diode 1-good
Swaped relay 1 and 2 no change

The manual then states to check ecm connector B for 12vdc. I check pin 11 as it states is the positive power supply, i have no power at pin 11. Pin 1 is the ground and i ran a continuity test on pin 1 to ground, there is continuity so i believe my issues is with pin 11 the 12vdc power supply pin.

Also please note i cannot find fuse F8.

The only other fuses i can find are 2 x 30 amp fuses which are enclosed in a black case near the back of the bike which i believe are to be for the charging system.

Any advice would be appreciated as i really do not feel like opening my wireing harness and chasing wires.

Thanks

Renegade 800 High Idle

Hi guys, have a 2013 Renegade 800 with high idle issues. Had some cams installed and ran it for a while with a programmer that wasn’t mapped properly so it idled terribly low but middle and top end were good. Got a new programmer installed with air fuel ratio gauge and ran it for about an hour and everything was perfect. Idled nicely and was running awesome. Put it away for the night and went to ride it the next day and now it idles very high. Played with the programmer with negative results. Runs 1500-1750 rpm and idles down after about 20 seconds. Tap the throttle in the smallest bit and it revs right back up again. It’s at the dealer now and they are going to start messing with it. Good fuel pressure. Any thoughts? IACV? Throttle body dirty? One thing I will mention is I had it tuned with the first programmer and the place I took it to played with the idle adjustment which is a big no no for the can ams. They couldn’t adjust it properly so set it back where it was to begin with so they say. Could that have anything to do with it? A new throttle body is pretty pricey and the dealer said they will try that after the Idle Air Control valve which I’m not looking forward to if that is the issue. Any help would be great. Thanks, Chris.

Coolant

Hey – So I researched this topic but I don’t see the answer I’m looking for, I’ll apologize in advance if I missed it.

I just bought a new Grizzly and I want to have some coolant/antifreeze on hand. I see the owners manual says to use ethylene glycol, but it seems as if it’s harder to get than polypropylene glycol. With that being said, I’m just curious what everyone is using, is it okay to just use the Prestone stuff that says it works with everything or should I be using something specific? I don’t want to add the wrong thing. Thank you in advance.
