I have a 2016 Renegade XMR 1000. I want to buy a second ECU to reflash and leave my stock one alone. I want to know what years will work. Dealer said $800 for a new one. Want to try and save a few $ and buy used if it I can.
Thanks
So I bought my 2013 Sportsman 550 about a year ago. I’m a 6’3" tall guy and when I stand up on it my arms were always to short so I was forced to hunch over in order to stand up while riding . I went to my local Polaris dealer to inquire about a longer throttle cable and I told them I wanted to rise up to an inch to two inches of rise to better accomadate my height . They asked techs , and even called Polaris to see if they had anything new coming out . They told me it couldn’t be done . They said the throttle cable, wiring and brake line is all to short . I decided to take it apart today and get a look at what’s going on . To my amazement everything was plenty long to rise 1" which was all I needed . I should have documented better with photos . I put four 1" steel spacers under the gauge pod mounting bracket that is below the handlebar clamp block . So the end result was to rise the clamp block and the pod bracket evenly so the bars and the gauge pod both would rise evenly so everything fit back together properly . I did drill out all the holes and up graded the bolts from 1/4" to 5/16" for a little more strength . Attached are some pics of stock and with 1" rise . It was easy !! Basic hand tools , a drill &drill bits and spacers is all you need . WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE !!
I used my girlfriends machine for a comparison to stock .
I have a 1986 trx250x I bought that I bored .040 over and out a 12:1 wiseco piston in it I currently am running stock exhaust until I can afford aftermarket I am also running 50/50 110 octane and 93 Idk of that matter it currently has a 125 main jet and runs quite lean can somebody help me with a starting point please
I have had an 850 xmr for about a month and the brakes are already shot. One of the front right pads actually broke causing one of the cups (Pistons) to contact the disc and get chewed up. I figure im going to need a new caliper along with more heavy duty brake pads all aroind. Are there any big brake kits that will work on these new 850s or do I need to just get a new caliper and some pads? I can’t find anything for a 2016 850 online. Any help or advise on something that will hold up better is much appreciated.
Honda Foreman 500 blinks 5 times. Iv’e scoured over all the forums, and i’ve done a lot to try to solve the issue. Went through all the connections, followed Honda’s step by step plan, replaced the ECU. Now the machine will work IF it sits overnight, then you can take it for a ride… but it seems like once it "warms or heats up/ take it for a ride" then shut it off, then once I turn it back on, it will return to the 5 blinks…
I bought a Big Boss on Craigslist last year to fix up for fun. Found the seven digit serial number which gave me zero help in any online searches to tell me what year it is. Found this site: http://cdn.polarisindustries.com/PURE/vin_location.pdf which lets me know it’s a 1984 (wow).
Where would I go to find specs on this critter? 🙂
got my first ATV not long ago, dont know a whole lot about them. after a day of riding in mud holes and submerging it. it randomly dies at idle on dirt. not sure what happen. was helping a buddy get his atv out of a hole we both got stuck in mine was left idleing for a few minutes went to give it gas when i came back and it died. since then wont start back up. i can get it to run and idle on starting fluid with the same results cuts out with throttle dies wont come back on… where do i start in checking the fuel system on these? when i turn the key over i want to say i can hear the fuel pump kick on so there is that…? 07 honda 420 rancher 4×4 efi
I have an 06 Rancher 350 (TRX350FE), with a disc brake conversion, I got on a trade. It’s been a great quad until it blew out a wheel bearing. I ordered a new steering knuckle (hub), and during the install process realized this hub would not work with the disc brake kit. There is a plate that the studs, and brake rotor bolt to, and it does not fit inside the new (factory style) knuckle. I would prefer not to pull the seals and bearings out of my knuckle, and replace. Has anyone run into this issue before, and if so is there an easier route to go to fix? Should I get a new disc brake kit, or just re-bearing it?
My brother-in-law has a 1989 TRX 300 A that is in really great shape and just needs a few parts to spruce it up. We were trying to find some new front shocks for it, but see they are listed as obsolete.
Does any one know if there are any aftermarket shocks that would fit? Or, shocks from another model year? Or, could we go with a completely new, current year shock? It would seem that a shock is a shock and something should be available that will fit but we cannot find anyone that can help us.
