Anything To Look Out For When Buying A Sportsman 570?

Howdy all! Headed to Maine next month and looking to join the Polaris family.

Was originally going to buy an Arctic Cat 500, but thankfully (in hindsight) the dealer sold out of the 2016’s with the rebate before I could get up there. Now looking at the 2016 Sportsman 570 which seems like a LOT more bike for just a little more money.

I’ve only ridden sport quads in Florida, and hoping the 570 is sporty enough for me. Slightly concerned about the weight and being able to toss it around, but I think it’ll be a better fit overall for trail riding in New England much more so than a sport quad.

I’ve searched the forum up and down before joining, and it appears like the general consensus is it’s not worth the extra cash to get the 570 SP model, but is worth it to grab the EPS base model.

Currently quoted $5700 OTD for the base 570, non eps.

$6800 OTD for the 570 EPS.

SP is like 8 grand plus!

Not sure if these are good prices or not, but thinking of starting a 570 youtube enthusiast channel or something to help with the costs of upgrades. Not into mudding, but would like aftermarket tires/wheels, maybe long travel shocks to get it to squat in the corners, and an exhaust with a fuel programmer to start.

Sound about right so far? Any tips or recommendations? Wondering if I should buy the warranty… looks like a bunch of people have had premature failures on some parts, but it makes me wonder if they bought from a low volume dealer with poor assembly/setup?

Thanks for any ideas!
