Actually just thought I would share my thoughts on the XMR VS my sportsman 850. First thing I wish Polaris would do a mud machine for the sportsman like they do for the RZR that thing would be a beast (hint hint Polaris).
There are things I like about both machines and things I don’t like about both
Power steering imo Polaris has a better PS than canam. It just seems smoother
4×4. Hands down I love the 4×4 of Polaris best in the market. The Visco lock is good but you have to stay on the throttle or it unlocks wish canam would use Polaris system
Rider comfort again hands down Polaris I ride 50 miles and get up and do it all over again and want to ride more. The canAM obviously has 30" silverbacks and it does ride very well with the fox shocks just not as good as the XP.
Clutching. I love the stock clutching on the can am I can put it in reverse and not feel like it is revving to the moon before it engages. The can am is a lot smoother.
Love the XMR with 30" tires stronger diffs and axles lower gearing relocated radiator and few other differences than a stock outlander
looks. I think the XMR looks better than the XP just my personal opinion but the XMR looks friggen badass
Fit and finish. I would say a tie. I have looked over both machines and find manufacturing flaws or little things that I think could have been built better. Canam cheaped out like Polaris on the brakes, only the right rear wheel has a brake on it👿 and still only one brake lever on the left side, I would prefer two hand levers for front and rear.
These are just my opinions, and I was not trying to compare them apple to Apple they are different machines just share some of my thoughts about the two I love both machines and ride them both about the same not trying to say one is better than the other or sell one over the other
