about had it with the 800

Bought the 2013 Sportsman 800 new in May in 2013. Ran great. had to clean the tps once and didnt have any issues for a while. Used it that winter at the farm and never had an issue. Used it in the summer and it acted up once where it would stutter when trying to get on it and checked the codes and got code 21. Next time I went to use it no issues at all. Left it sit in the shed all winter, didn’t have time to use it. Pulled it out this spring and was using it around the farm again and no issues. At this point it had just under 30 hours and 106 miles.

Today now, well lets just say it was starting it really irk me. Loaded it up on the trailer and hauled it up north to hit the Dusty Trails for a few hours. If anyone knows the area, we parked in Gillett and took the trails up the Breed. No code or issues until we get up to Breed to top up with gas, Code 21 popped up and had some hesitation issues. About a ten mile trip. Sat at the gas station for a bit and decided if it was gona act up just say screw it and go home. Started it up, no check engine light, headed back south, took about 20 mins to get 6 miles down trail, steady run at about 25mph, ran great so said ok, maybe just a freak code pop again, turned around and went out, ran great for about half hour after that then the code popped back up again and would sputter pretty hard if I tried to get on it to hard, would be fine if I rolled up to speed easy, unless from a dead stop then I could rail on it and would be just fine until about 28mph then would sputter like mad if I was giving her to hard. Figured out well since the trail speed is only 25, can deal with it.

Ran about 105 miles with the code coming and going, mainly would go away if we stopped and shut the machine down for a few mins. Stopped at the pipeline to play in the mud a little and was ok getting on it alittle in the shallow mud. Hit a water hole and it started missing pretty bad, ok well I knew I got something wet, was bound to happen, took it easy for a while and got it dried out and that sputtering went away but code 21 still. Well once you hit the trail south of Breed you can just cruise. Well rolled it up to about 35 and would sputter hard again unless I railed on it then would be fine up to about 55 then I would had to play with the throttle a hair to keep it from sputtering. Well about half way between Gillett and Breed, code still on but ran like a top, dead stop to 70, no issues or anywhere in between.

Now that yall know the history, what could be causing the issues with code 21 and the heavy hesitation/missing?

BTW the machine now sits at about 40 hours and 220 miles.
