I recently purchased a 99 Sportsman 335 that had been sitting for a while. I just rebuilt the carb, replaced the buttons in the secondary (driven) clutch, changed the belt and other maintenance items.
My problem now is that on decel the belt grabs pretty hard and rapidly slows it down and throws you forward. I don’t know if I just didn’t clock the secondary correctly (first time I"ve ever messed with one) or if I need to look at the Primary. The belt also slips some but it’s a lot better now than it was before I replaced the buttons. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.s I did lightly clean the sheaves with soap and water with a textured pad. I also twisted the sheave in the direction that would tighten the coil of the spring up. Hope that was correct. Thanks again
