Hi everyone. New here and just picked up a 97 sportsman 500. Runs like a champ, 1800 miles. Needed a new dash lights, rear rack and rear mud guard, so I pulled all the plastics so I could sand and paint a matte black, when I noticed some wiring issues.

There were 3 wires not connected to anything and the 12V plug isn’t connected. – 1 wire is a blue wire that’s connected to ground below the terminal board (voltage regulator maybe?). This has a large male spade connector.
– 2 wires are joined together and connected hot to the terminal board (red wires). 1 has a large male spade and the other has a female spade.

1) where does the 12V aux port connect to?
2) what could these wires have gone to? Winch?
Do any wires on this machine use male spades? All I see are females and the males are on the terminal board.
3) does the speedo or awd button light up? Cuz mine don’t – but most of the dash lights were burnt out.
