I have a 1995 Polaris 400 2 stroke 4×4 that has been bored out .080 over and had the head very slightly decked because the previous owner ran out of oil and broke piston skirts. I replaced the crank case and all bearings, rod (hot rod crank and connecting rod), wiseco piston and rings, and oil pump. I used the original carbureter settings and it fired right up first try. Runs great until it reaches running temperature or after you really get on it for a few minutes. It will lean out at about 3/4 throttle and cut out, you flip the choke and it runs for another 4 or 5 seconds, then it starts flooding. You flip off the choke and it runs again for another 4 or 5 seconds then starts cutting out…you get the idea. I am going to pull the carburetor and take a look at the float and the jets for tarnish but I’ve read these carbs are a real bear to get back to factory settings.
Again..thanks for looking. Any and all suggestions are appreciated! :thanks:
