660: Won’t fire until it senses oil pressure?

I am going back through every post that has ever been posted on Grizzly Talk. I am now back to page 261!

In a January, 2009 post, a guy was asking for help because his 660 would not start. "Rocknm" told him to put a heat source under his engine to warm up the oil because "there is a sensor that won’t allow the engine to fire until/unless an oil pressure sensor senses oil pressure". Say what? Any body ever heard of that on a 660? It was an ’08 so it should have had a carb, correct? Especially when trying to hand start it, how could a sensor possibly sense oil pressure before it at least fired a few times? And what about start up after an oil/filter change?

I tried to contact Rocknm, but he is either no longer on here or won’t accept personal messages.
