2015 OUTLANDER XT-p 1000 Crank case drain tube question

Just washing my can-am and while getting the underneath i noticed a tube with some brownish liquid coming from the front of the crankcase. I grabbed the end of the hose that was not connected to the crankcase to drain it.

I wasn’t paying much attention to location it was going. So I am not sure if I put it in the correct location. Anyone have any suggestions about the placement or does it not matter?

Seems odd that the tube going to the motor would have a short tube and not a long one like the diffs.

see attachment for details

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.
