I own a 2012 Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O. I didn’t check the bike itself, it’s @ my hunting camp. My owners manual says it has front tires sized , 25×8-12 and rear 25×10-12 the LE has 25×11-12.
I assume my back tire is 25×10-12.
Anyway, i’m wanting to put a new set of skins on it. The Carlisle’s are great, never left me stuck, but they have about 2,000 miles on them now and are what 4 years old ?
So I decided to go with Mud Lite tires. My question is, can I use a 26 tire front and back. i’m told going 2 inches to a 27 will under power the bike and strain axles.
Do I or should I go bigger to a 26 and if so, what inner numbers ?
I’m showing on a tire wholesaler a size of 26×10-12 and 26×12-12 ? Which kinda troubles me as to how they would fit on the bike ?
I’m sure someone of ya’ll have upgraded your rims and tires, can anyone offer me any advice ? Bolt patterns etc.
