My 2008 Rancher 420 has been sitting up for a while. I had to replace the battery and I changed the oil and it started right up and drove it around for about 20 minutes with no issues. When I got it back to the house it started sputtering and died and will not restart. it turns over but acts like it is not getting fuel.
I read the forums and I can hear a clicking from what I think is the relay behind the battery, but don’t hear the fuel pump humming. I am not much with electronics but I unplugged the electrical connection on top of the fuel pump and touched the black and red multimeter connections to that wire connector and I am getting no feedback. Not sure if I am doing that correctly ?? So first should I be getting a steady current at that electrical connector, and exactly how do I test that with a multimeter? Second I am not sure what I am looking for in terms of the fuel pump relay what does it actually look like and how could I change it, or test to see if it is bad? Does anyone have a picture of it that they could post. Any feedback is appreciated.
