G’day all.
Have a 2006 Outlander that has timing chain issues it has done 3110 hours, and needs to be repaired which I will get done at the dealer. Planning to keep this machine going as a second machine and spare, but would like to buy another bike as well. I can get a good deal on a new 450 dps or I have a family friend with a 2005 outlander max for sale in about 5 weeks which has been well looked after and has done less than 80 hours. My question is if I go for the older bike in 10 years time will I still be able to get parts easily? or is it better to go for the new bike so part availability is likely to be better?

Also I use the bike for weighing calves at birth with a calf birthweight cradle and electronic load bars which fairly heavy about 65kg i would estimate, attached to the rear rack. Add a 50kg calf and and you are up to about 115kg although generally not moving. I did have it mounted to the front rack last year but ended up ruining the front shocks, the oil leaked out of them. Would a 570 or 650 be better for handling the weight or no better? The 400 has had enough power for what we use it for.
Thanks for your help.
