2002 sportsman 500 take off/acceleration issues

Picked this quad up the little while back. It has the EBS and around 8500km’s on it (5200miles).
It seems like it has very little get up and go. Can spin the tires in gravel and just kind putters.

I’ve never owned a automatic quad before, but several sleds. Should be same principle.

It is supposed to have Hotcams in it (not sure what style came or even if the make different types. I also do believe a seen a clutch kit on one of the receipts, but can’t seem to find them.

I took the belt to local dealer and it the correct one for EBS as well as same dimensions so it is in new condition. No glassing on it. So I ruled out the belt.

Without a belt on the machine I can squeeze the primary clutch together fairly easy. Is the normal? Looks like the stock factory colour spring (blue with yellow strip). I blew out all the dust and checked the weights and rollers. All seem to be okay.

Secondary I took apart and cleaned and greased the bearing. Reassembled. All seems well until I read some stuff that says it need to be preloaded. But the spring does not have any notches to put in holes.

Questions are:
Should primary be fairly easy to compress?

Does all secondary clutches always have preloading capabilities?
