So yesterday I finally got to ride my machine properly for the first time.
3 hours of 3rd and 4th gear trail riding, inclines, whoops, sand pits, mud, rain….. It was awesome!
Me and my buddy have the same machine, but his is a bone stock ’03, and mine is an ’02 with some goodies, including a Tusk adjustable axle.
My buddy blew out his axle bearing, so we took his apart to replace the whole carrier and bearing assembly.
I wanted to take my axle apart so I could get some grease in there as well.
I noticed that my bearing carrier does NOT have a grease nipple (my buddy’s does and so does his replacement carrier).
I also was not able to slide the carrier off of the axle.
The bearings seem fine as the carrier spins freely around the axle, but I am not sure how I’m supposed to get grease in there if the carrier has no grease nipple and I can’t remove it from the axle.
If anyone has any advice, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks for reading folks! 🙂
