Hey everyone, I’m new to the forums, just got a 2001 Rancher 350 foot shift.
I was doing some work to bypass the neutral safety switch because it went out, and accidentally yanked out some type of oil seal on the left side of the motor next to the shifter. I’m not very mechanically inclined so I don’t know the correct term for it, but it’s a rubber piece that has wires running through the middle of it into the motor. I managed to get the rubber piece shoved back into the tiny hole, but it’s not sitting like it was before and now there’s a little bit of oil leaking out of it. Also, I’m worried it’s not water tight.
Is there anything I can do to properly seal this again? It seems nearly impossible to get it back to how it was originally because the hole it goes into is so small and the rubber piece is so big. You guys have any suggestions?
