I recently cleaned the carburetor on my Polaris Trail boss, it had been sitting for many years before I acquired it. I put gas in the gas tank and pulled and pulled and pulled, no start, it has good spark, it gets fuel, and the compression is okay (i put my thumb over the spark plug hole). I sprayed some mixed gas down into the cylinder, and it started right up. It ran good until the throttle stuck and i hit the killswitch and turned it off. After that I started it back up for only a few seconds until the throttle stuck again, and I had to turn it off again. There is electric start but it does not work, I’m not sure if the starter isn’t coming out and grabbing the flywheel or if the battery isn’t charged up enough. Every time I started it up it smoked horribly, I know its a 2 stroke and it’s been sitting for a long time, but it was a LOT of smoke.
So my 4 biggest questions are:
1. Why doesn’t it want to start all the time?
2. Why does the throttle stick?
3. Why does my electric starter not work?
4. Why would it have smoked so much?
