1987 TRX350D Foreman Fuel Problem

Hi to everyone,

I am new to the forum and I appreciate all of the great information that has been shared here to help keep our ATVs running. I am the original owner of a 1987 TRX350D Foreman that has been a workhorse for us at our property in the Finger Lakes region of New York.

The ATV will run for about a minute after sitting overnight then won’t start again unless I wait several hours. I found that the fuel pump 10A fuse was blown so I replaced. Followed the procedure to check the fuel cutoff relay on page 20-8 of the service manual and it checks out except for step 4 where I had only a few volts at the fuel pump when trying to start the engine. I jumpered through the cutoff relay and get 12V at the pump until I try to start the engine and the voltage at the pump goes down to a few volts and is not stable. Should I be getting a solid 12V at the fuel pump with the ignition switch on and when trying to start?
