1987 350 Weekend Restoration

I recently picked up a 1987 350 with a winch and snow plow for a great price. The body was in rough shape with a nice mix of random parts but the previous owner took good mechanical care of it. The only thing that didn’t work was the parking brake. It has definately had a rough life but the thing just refused to die. Here are some pictures of the rattle can restoration over the weekend.

Picking it up.

Chassis and wheels painted on day 2. I used engine paint for the motor pieces and VHT for the exhaust pieces.

Covered the eyesores with a snow camo vinyl wrap. Plastic welded the cracks in the plastic and filling in the large chunks with riveted sheet metal.

Bolting everything back up. I cleaned and sprayed the black plastics with Duplicolor vinyl dye.

And done. I covered the side plastics in plastidip and dyed the original old camo bag with the Duplicolor dye.

I changed all of the fliuds and filters and put about 15 miles on it and it performed without flaw. It still starts, runs and climbs like a new(er) ride. I am impressed with how solid everything is and how well it works after all these years. I have a couple little items to fix but it is going to be a great snow plow.

I am looking around for the lower side plastics but damn, people online think they are made out of gold or something considering what they are asking for them.
