Yesterday I had the initial service carried out by the local "bike shop". Apparently he is an "authorized service provider" and he did tell me prior to the service that he had the computer to reset the maintenance warning and he quoted me $200 max to do the job.
When I went to pick up the bike, the mechanic told me he could not reset the warning (has to go to a BRP agent!!!) and the charge was now $304. I queried the cost and was told that the job took longer than expected because the tappets were extremely difficult to access. Still, I was not too happy about the additional cost!
My question is….what if any are the consequences of not resetting the warning? The fact that the message is there does not worry me too much but does anything else happen (like auto shut down) if the message is not cancelled?
