Looking online, took apart the CVT and well as you can see in the pictures, there’s some grooves in both the primary and secondary faces. The primary was packed with old looking dry/cooked grease and there was decent grit/sand in there. No apparent oil leaks and belt was dry but looked glazed on the edges and a little chewed up along the teeth.
Can my primary and secondary be machined and/or maybe a die grinder with a Scotch pad (Father-in-law has a garage so he has a variety)? If not, guess I better try to find a good used replacement (sigh).
Also, the finned side of the primary sheave also looks like it has "surface cracks" after I cleaned it all up?
Sorry if I sound like an idiot, I am not experienced at all with atv repairs and I usually get reamed at the dealership. I honestly don’t have that kind of cash kicking around right now for that bill.
Thanks and sorry for the long read.
