I just ought an 03 Kodiak a couple weeks ago and I’m having a couple issues. I noticed it runs fine down a road at high speeds but when you slow down and start climbing over logs and rocks and pretty much anywhere you would use 4×4 it seems to flood almost. The engine had no power and you have be steady on the throttle around quarter throttle to keep it going. Sometime if you put it in park or neutral you can ease in the throttle and come out of it. I ran some seafoam through it because it almost seemed like water. Then I went for a ride one day and the bike started fine all day so when I got home I shut it off went in the house for 5 minutes or so and then went back out to put it in the garage and the battery was dead. Boosted it and let charge and it has been fine for a week or so. So today I go to take my son for a ride and the battery is dead again so I put the charger on it for an hour or so and it fires up no problem and we hit the trail. We rode probably an hour on back roads at high speed in 2×4 and everything was fine. Then I go into a trail and get up on a log that was crossing the trail and needed 4×4 and it starts sputtering. It gets so bad it will barely move. So I help it over the log with my son running the throttle and get going down the trail slowly and push the button to take it out of 4×4 and I loose all power in the dash . When I get back to the main Rd I shut it off and sure enough I can’t start it with the switch. No big deal I will just pull it so away we go again but still sputtering and getting worse so I decide I better turn around and just after I did it got so bad it would just idle and the odd time creep ahead. I stood up and shook it side to side and it quit and then it did the same thing after I got it started again. Finally it would not start and after an hour or so someone came by and gave us a ride. When i was pulling it there was nothing didn’t even hiccup . Got back with my truck and put the cables on it and it fired right up and sputtered so I played with the throttle and it seemed to get better. Sorry for the long post
