Hey folks, i’m new to this site so any help would be appreciated. I have an 01 xplorer 250 4×4 that was given to me. The engine was locked up. I pulled the jug off and looked down into the crankcase and noticed some rust. I was able to get it to rotate about a half turn. I guess my question is, is there oil that should go in this crankcase and if so what type and amount. Also is there anything I can put in to let sit to see if it will free it up. I had someone tell me one time that they have put diesel fuel in them for a few days to get them to loosen up. I’m just trying to keep from having to pull the case out and tear it down.
