Trying to get a real feel for the smart choice on exhaust systems. I’d like to run a tuner (likely a BMP), and it seems that major gains are gained with the exhaust upgrade as well. However, I hate loud pipes. I want good breathing, but as quiet as possible. Some very respected manufacturers claim that the factory header is very good on the XP1K units, so a slip-on is all that is necessary. Others claim an aftermarket header is required. What do you guys think?
Sorry to start another thread on this topic, but I didn’t see one that really addressed the conflicting info. Has anyone run this combo (quiet slip-on, factory header, tuner)? Has any testing been done to show that the louder pipes are more effective? And is anyone confident that the header replacement is necessary?
Thanks!
Tom
