Xp 1000 rock crawling build

Looking to see what everyone’s opinions are for building up a xp1000 to handle techical rock crawling terrain. I’m thinking next spring we will be making a trip to Moab and I’d really like to not break anything while we are down there. Plus we have a few trails in Montana that are very technical and we slide across rocks all the time. My question is would a 3-5 inch lift, high clearance A arms, and bigger tires be sufficient enough to handle technical rocky terrain or would I still have to put skid plates and guards on the important parts? This will be our first time down to Moab and I’m looking forward to it, however I want to make sure our 1000 will be protected.
