Okay, I’ve had a winch installed on my 1000 since I bought it. Ran the 4 gauge + and – wires from the battery up front under the console to the solenoid/contactor. I recently bought a set of Rigid D2 driving lights and they came with a wiring harness, but the + and – wires are too short to reach the battery. I never did run a hot wire from the battery to the positive on the factory buss bar. Just use the acc post to power a couple of my switches.
My question is; can I connect my + and – for my cubes to the + and – on my winch solenoid under my console instead of running another hot all the way to the battery? I was thinking of a couple of options. Do as I said above, jumper the + and – from the winch solenoid with 6 or 8 gauge wire to the factory buss bar and use that for power, or do the same and jumper to a new fuse block for future accessories too. I’ve never used the winch, but don’t want to run into problems if I need to. I’d really like to go the fuse block route to make things easier in the future.
