Good Afternoon all. I started a thread about the big wheel kit last week but after some research I have decided not to go that route.
My kids machine needs new tires and I am wanting to gain a little ground clearance. I would not mind getting some custom wheels but the only machined wheels RM offers are only for the rear, same width front and back. I am trying to stay as "stock" as possible just wanting a little more clearance. I like having the narrower wheels and tires in front. I live in central Fl. so my kids are only riding in sand pine trails with a little mud. I need the ground clearance for palmetto roots ect. No rocks or sand dunes here. I am about to pull the trigger on a set up from Rocky Mountain and wanted some opinions before doing it.
Front- Douglas .125 10×5 3+2. With STI Tech 4xc 22x7x10
Rear- Douglas .125 10×8 3+5. With Kenda Bear Claw 23x10x10
All for under $500.00
What do you think? Would this be a good, cheap way to gain clearance without doing any other mods? Concerns with the front tow in being bad? Was going to try it out then maybe get the sprocket if needed. I have read some people did not need the sprocket, some people did. Also do not want to put too much stress on other parts, transmission, hubs, axles ect. What about being top heavy. If I do this and they flip it and get hurt, momma will not be happy.
If you have any suggestions/opinions please let me hear them.
Thanks D.
