Wayne national forest ride report

My wife and I spent Labor Day weekend riding in the wayne national forest. We stayed at the Williams campground which has a connector trail to the wnf system. We rode maybe half of the trails and we’ll be going back. The trails we were on were not particularly technical but they are narrow in some places. We crossed one bridge that was very tight for our 900 trail model. There is a work around for that. Trails are not well marked compared to hatfield McCoy. There was a little mud but not much and not very deep. During the time we were there the traffic on the trails was pretty heavy. There were quite a few dirt bikes and a lot of atvs. There is a 50 inch limit but we did see two rzr4’s which are illegal there. We saw no law enforcement on the trails at all. If you like mostly easy trails these are the trails for you. I understand the Dorr run area of the system is a little tougher. We didn’t make it to that area but I suspect it isn’t all that difficult either. Williams campground was very friendly and very busy. They have some campsites with electricity but no water. They do have water you can fill your tank with when you come in. There is also a dump station. They had a hog roast on Saturday and a mud bog competition too. It was good fun and the food was really good. This was our first time at wnf but it won’t be our last.
