The ultimate set-up for clutch/belt reliability…?

Having thrown my first belt (which I knew was only a matter of time…), I’ve been thinking about setting up my clutch/belt for the best possible performance and reliability. I frequently ride in remote areas in the desert alone and won’t be able to rely on the kindness/preparedness of others, so please let me know what you think. I don’t think there’s such thing as overkill goes, and I know that with this set-up well north of $1K it’s a pretty spicy meatball, but cheap insurance/peace of mind…

  1. Dalton clutch kit from Hunterworks Polaris RZR XP 900, Polaris Ranger 800 – Dalton XP 1000 Clutch Kit with spare belt, HD dampener and rollers: $563
  2. Razorback IR belt temp gauge (Hunterworks) Polaris RZR XP 900, Polaris Ranger 800 – Infrared Belt Temp Gauge : $250
  3. Fuel Customs clutch cover http://www.rzrforums.net/rzr-xp-4-10…tch-cover.html : $400
  4. Alba clutch cover pin kit Clutch cover pin kit (Easy belt change) : $70

I was thinking that will the new clutch cover that I wouldn’t need the belt slide guide…? Polaris RZR XP 900, Polaris Ranger 800 – Belt Slide Guide and http://www.rzrforums.net/rzr-xp-1000…ce-racing.html

I really like the Razorback gauge as opposed to other units which measure ambient air temp, but I was also thinking that a fan like Alba offers here: Alba complete belt saving kit but I’m looking for the fan only and haven’t located a vendor selling just the fan…

So with this setup hopefully even if the belt does go the quick release hardware, spare belt (Polaris tool, gloves and cleaner for the interior of the clutch cover and related parts) it should be a relatively minor inconvenience.

Anything I’m missing, suggestions, etc.?

Thanks!
