I bought a 2014, Polaris Razor 1000XP. It has 625 miles on it. It is great shape and former owner claims it was never in mud only trail and sand a few times. We took some panels off looking for signs of mud underneath and found none. So, looks overall like it was well taken care of. However, the machine does not want to run over 63 on pavement at around 8800 RPM. I’ve tried to feather back the throttle and let it climb but it just hovers in the 60’s. The former owner said he put more robust belt on it right after purchase because of advice of other 1000 owners. Wondering if this belt or his installation could be holding it back? It seems to have strong torque and acceleration so I don’t notice any obvious slipping. I have yet to take the cover off and examine but was curious if other had any similar experience and what it could be?
