2015 New XP1k with 12hrs on it. I noticed some oil in the belt cover. Its a couple of table spoons probably. I took it into the dealer and they told me its the crank seal leaking oil and the motor would have to be pulled. They said it should be no problem getting warrenty to cover it.
They can’t get at it for nearly a month and I have a riding trip coming up so I think I’m going to put off fixing it till I’m back. I probably will put on about 10 to 15 hr of riding. Dealer said I should be ok if I keep an eye on it and and check my oil often.
There has also been talk here of replacing the crank seal without spliting the cases. Has this been done successfully with the 1k ? Should I even consider this or just go ahead and let the dealer pull the engine and do it right?
